Week 6 Weapons Cache

Another match which we figured wouldn't be too much of a difficulty, but none the less, we scrimmed this one a fair bit. We walked in with solid strats, and good shots, ready to take the win.

We started on Defense. Rooster went s/r, schmidt watched middle, while me and jesterss watched north. These rounds were not very exciting for me as I sat there 0-0 for about 5 of the 7 rounds. Meanwhile jesterss and Rooster swept up all the kills, bringing them up to the 10 mark. Finally I got some excitement... Just the wrong kind. schmidt accidentally got a tk on me while shooting out the glass over my shoulder. This caused a fall back to a 3v4 prime camp, which they held without too much effort. We managed all the rounds on Defense, and off to Assault we went.

All we needed was one round, and I guess we were eager to get it, because get it we did. Rooster fell while in battle at mid offices, and schmidt dropped shortly after, but not before getting a kill. Sometime in there I managed a kill, which left me and jesterss to push prime in a 2v2. We went north stairs, and smoked it good. After dancing in the stairs a bit, I dashed across by elevator access. We battled with one in the offices before jesterss took that kill, and seconds after I got one hiding at the other side of the room.

They left after that, which gave us another solid 14-0 win.

Week 3 Headquarters Raid

We expected a relatively easy match, and though we had plans to scrim the map, we didn't. I pubbed it for a few minutes before just to get a feel for it, but thats all folks.

We started on Defense. It went very well, with us doing a race for kills. Thanks to my pubbing experience, I knew the best spots to go and hide, which gave me a quick lead. We managed to take all our rounds on defense without breaking a sweat.

Now we switched to assault. Our previous 6 wins had gone to our head, so we rushed a little. This lead to a 1v1 with me and one of theirs. After finally spotting him while I creeped towards the obj, I got a quick shot off, and ended that round. Now, like on defense, we worked magic, and took round after round. Good thing there were 4 of us though to make up for schmidt's obsession with dieing and roosters lack of ability to kill. We took the rest of the rounds without too much trouble (I died once) which gave us a 12-0 win. A notable point is my first 20 bomb (more to come). A fun match, and a solid win. Good games.

Week 5 Mountain Ambush

This was a huge match for us. Going into it 2-2 and having just suffered a 10-4 loss against this team on IC, we knew we had to take it, or our CAL season would be pretty much over. This was made worse when we saw Proton joining the server for their team. We had scrimmed this map lots the past week and knew our strats well. Despite the expectations of a tough match, it seemed like we had won when we stepped in the door.

We started on Escort, and being the tougher side, we hoped for maybe 2 rounds out of 7 before the swap. One of theirs accidentally killed themselves, and jesterss went on a rampage for the other three allowing us the to take the first round. We entered round 2 with confidence. jesterss quickly got 2 picks, followed by one more by me. With a 4v1, we went after obj C, and as we neared, we got picked, one by one. In a last attempt, Rooster made a mad rush for the obj while jesterss played the toy, and seconds after jesterss was downed Rooster took it making it 2-0 for us. Round 3 went bad, I went A and got double teamed, which allowed them free shots at Rooster ending it quickly. Round 4. Schmidt got taken down fast, but jesterss also got a fast pick. I got shot at from behind but Rooster saved me, which turned out good as I went a few seconds later and got a kill. I then got taken down. Rooster and jesterss got organized, and Rooster sat back while jesterss again played the toy. He booked it up towards B hoping the e would show himself to Rooster, but before he did, jesterss got him with a nade. 3-1. The next 3 rounds weren't so pretty. They turned their game on and took all 3 in a very short time.

We went to Ambush at 3-4, meaning we only need 5 rounds to win the match. Four of these flew by with nothing exciting except a near ace by jesterss (he got 2 picks, then got the vip); and a very long round which ended with Proton rushing C and getting within 2 feet of it before finally be taken down by jesterss. Round 12 of 14. Rooster and jesterss went for an A rush. This was a mistake, as they were both dead withing 1 second of each other thanks to an amazing play by Proton. I got overpowered at C, and poor schmidt couldn't get his clutch panties on in time, and only got one kill before being taken down. We didn't like losing on Ambush, but at the beginning of round 13 you wouldn't have known. Rooster and schmidt got picked up at B, leaving me and jesterss at C. Jesterss again showing his prowess on this map quickly got 2 kills to even the teams out. Unfortunately though, he wasn't quite fast enough to get the final vip kill of the match, which I stole from under his nose. It was an intense match, and we played it very well. One notable point is jesterss final score: 16-5

Week 2 on Border

We started on assault, and having not scrimmed the map much the previous week, had to decide our tactics on the spot. We tried spread out pushes for the first three rounds, and realized quite quickly that they weren't working. With three rounds down, and our TWL-open opponent looking like more of a fight than we expected; we got our game together. We did a 3 man push north, while one went middle, and got our first win on assault. The next round didn't go quite as well, but thanks to schmidt, and his amazingly well played clutch-ace, we got a second win. After 2 wins under our belt, another win seemed like nothing to us, and put us at 3-3 going on to defense.

Defense went well. I sat South and watched for rushers, Rooster went south-middleish and looked out, Jesterss patiently stayed near the obj, looking for a pick, and schmidt went hunting up North. These rounds flew by uneventful, except for a 1v1 time win by Jesterss while under constant fire, and an ace also by Jesterss. We managed to take all our rounds on defense making the final score 9-3
